Cech is going to get promoted!

Arsenal last summer signed Cech who had played as a goalkeeper in Chelsea, and he has performed quite well. Now, Arsenal intend to add some burden on Cech and they consider appointing Cech to be captain in the team, according to Daily Mirror.

Currently, Arsenal’s captain is Arteta, but he is going to end his player career and become a coach this summer. Theoretically, Arsenal should promote the vice captain Mertesacker in such a situation. But Wenger plans not to do so and he thinks the team’s captain should be an absolute leading player in the team, but Mertesacker now needs to compete with Gabriel for a starting position.

Considering the circumstances, Wenger has to seek someone else to be the new captain, and Cech is a favorite candidate to him. This season, Cech has become the leader at the defense line of Arsenal and he still keeps excellent athletic form. Moreover, Cech has established an influence in the locker room of Arsenal, and the players in Arsenal all praise him a lot.
