Congratulations Leicester!I have to admit, like many Arsenal fans, I had a tiny voice inside me telling me that somehow Sp*rs were going to win this season's Premier League. After Leicester drew with Man United, faced another key player being banned, and everyone was tipping Chelsea to beat them easily, I knew it wouldn't be quite the dead cert people were predicting.
I know it was more likely, they'd Sp*rs it, which they ultimately did, in proper Sp*rs fashion, drawing 2-2 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday night after finding themselves deservedly 2-0 up at half time. In the 2nd half battle which followed, they capitulated and let Leicester in for an astounding league title win.
Yep, we should have, could have done better ourselves, but there we go. Giroud scores v Swansea at home to make it 2-0 instead of hitting the bar, Rashford's handball on the line at OT is spotted, Ramsey finishes that 1 on 1 at WHL for 3-2, we hold on until half time against West Ham, Theo scores that double chance at home against Southampton past their world class keeper for the night ... just so many different little scenarios on the pitch which could have made this season so, so different but it wasn't to be.
At least we blew our chance nice and gradually and not in proper full on Sp*rs fashion away at a rival after being 2-0 up.
Anyway, a fairytale ending to pretty rubbish season for us, so it's time to take your Arsenal bucket hat off to the Foxes, and thank them for winning the league, the alternative was just unthinkable.
Attach one extra news for Arsenal fans...
Arsenal 1-0 Norwich...Danny Welbeck came on as sub to fire us to all three points after it looked like relegation threatened Norwich would scrape a point at the ground formerly known as The Emirates.
In Arsene Wenger's 750th game in charge, the points were shared, as we limp towards Champions League qualification. Next up, will be Man City away, City who will hopefully still be dizzy from their game against Real Madrid on Wednesday, then the final game is at home to the already-relegated Aston Villa...
It's though that Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere and even Tomas Rosicky could be in line for a return for our away game at Man City this weekend. Team news later in the week...
